Yes. This course is there to help the student understand the SC gun laws and how carry a concealed firearm in this state. Students with little or no experience need to know how to function the firearm and be confident when using it. Per the SC state gun laws, shooters must have “suitable training” in order to obtain your CWP. If a student does not then we run Beginners courses for them, which will give you all the skills needed for the course, but it will also give you the confidence needed to own a firearm.

SC Driver’s License. IF you do not have a SC driver’s license you may still take the course, however you must obtain one prior to submitting your application to SLED.
If you are a non resident of the state and own property here in SC, you can take the course and have the tax accessor office fill out a form to receive your non- resident CWP.
No. We have rentals available. But as stated above that is a separate cost. If a loaner is used, you must use our ammunition.
Qualification is shooting all 25 rounds in order or yards lines 3-10. All commands will be given so you know the exact amount to shoot and when to shoot. You must hit 18 out of 25 rounds on target, but also show you understand and have the basic fundamentals of how to properly shoot. You must show you can shoot safely without issues. You will have to load and unload the firearm.
SLED can take UP TO 90 days to process your application. Hopefully it will take less time then that. But they are allowed 90 days.

Your class includes: anywhere from 5-7 hours of instruction which covers, per SLED, the following topics: (a) statutory and case law of SC relating to handguns and use of deadly force; (b) handgun use and safety; (c) proper storage practices for handguns that reduce possibility of accidental injury to children; and (d) actual firing of the handgun in the presence of the instructor
The fee also includes: Range time, Target, SCDL Copy, Application, Checklist, envelope to hold all documents in, eye and ear protection.
You will need a firearm and ammunition for that firearm. We have rentals and ammo available if needed. But that would be the only outside cost of the course.
In the state of South Carolina, a concealed weapon is a firearm with a length of less than 12 inches and carried in a manner that is concealed in the normal wear of clothing. As long as you follow the guidelines of size and concealing you can carry what you like.

You can absolutely appeal the decision. On the letter sent for denial it will explain the appeal process and what needs to be done. REMEMBER there is a time frame you must submit in, so do not let that expire.
